A little bit different.
Last night when I was at work I let a couple of people in on my goals and aims. Not many people from work know that I have been powerlifting. Those who knew were my team but none of the others. It started off by one of the team leaders asking about diet because he noticed I’d lost a lot of weight. After a while I showed them photos in my Facebook album of the types of body I am aiming for and they all told me they didn’t find it attractive and it wasn’t very nice. The same reaction I’ve been getting from most people but even though I am determined anyway, that just spurred me on more. I know that I am disliked at my work. I know that people talk behind my back and are nasty about me and now gaining a physique that they will not like either just makes me want it more. Why? Because as was admitted by one of the guys, it’s threatening for a woman to be that strong. They find it intimidating. I don’t think it will affect me negatively at work, it may infact have the opposite effect.
Just proving them all wrong with their small minded opinions that stem from people making up rumours and spreading them around will be amazing. My general manager and I are planning on using my strength to raise some money for the company’s chosen charity. I’m planning on deadlifting an amount of weight. Not sure how much or how it can be related to cinema. If we were still using 35mm we could have used the films somehow. So I’m thinking perhaps popcorn weight? Current weight of the ice cream in the cabinet? Not sure. Anyone have any ideas? We were thinking using the weight of one of the managers but seeing as he hates me more than any other and is a bit funny about the fact he is over weight we thought it was a bad idea.
